When filming my music video I had to make sure that I didnt put my artist or my self in a position that may cause us harm. The one risk that was clear from the start was actually filming and being oblivious from everything around. Focusing on the artist and making sure the footage is how you want it, could effectively take your mind away from everything else around meaning you are putting yoursef at a risk. An example of this was when I was shooting in the forest location and I was walking backwards not aware of anything behind me and I ended up bumping into the tree. This wasnt a major hazard but it could have been worse as it could have caused hurt to me and damage to the camera if I was to drop it.
The locations I chose to use weren't particular a hazard and so not many problems could occur. However when filming on the field there were numerous of nettles which could have been a problem. If my artist had an allergic reaction to nettles or grass/straw then this could have caused health issues for her and shooting problems for me. Luckily this wasnt the case and my artist was fine during the filming process. In the forest there were trees around which werent a problem for the artist as she could see where she was going but were quite dangerous to me as I couldnt. Also if branches were to snap from the trees it could have potentially put us both in harm.
Whilst filming in the forest it happened to be raining which could have caused risk to the camera. Luckily we had an umbrella I was able to put over my head and camera whilst we were filming and the camera was ok. However there was a point were the camera was fully exposed to the rain and this was whilst filming the shot of the trees and the sky. A drop of rain got onto the camera lense but thankfully no damage was done. This could have potentially caused a lot of damage with the camera and more stress with the filming process.
