The original Ellie Goulding Music Video.
I asked 5 people which noted the comparison and contrasts between the orginal music video and mine. I wanted to get feedback on how well they think I made it and if I managed to differentiate from the orginal.
I began by showing the original music video as well as my version to the person I was asking questions to (I showed the videos using my mobile phone as I had access to youtube)

Now you have seen both the Original music video and my version would you say there are many resembalances and if so what are they?
All 5 people said that the main similarities in both videos are the use of cinematography, the mise en scene and the style of the video. It was made clear that the same type of angles were used in both videos. An example of these been with the white backgrounds in both. Close ups of the artists eyes are used as well as a full shot of their faces.
Also another similarity picked up by the audience is the similar mise en scene the white background been one of them and the field been another. I placed my artist in a field which is something which is done in the original video. This shows I have used the original video as inspiration for mine. This could also be seen as an intertextual refrence to the orginal video with is something which can be identified as a post modern feature.
100% of the people I asked said that both videos had resembalances. They said that the videos were not completely identical which is what makes my video an original however the inspiration from the original version with Ellie Goulding can be identified. I was hoping that the inspiration was noticeable to the audience as well as the differences and so this is something I would say I have accomplished with my video.
What genre would you say the original music video by Ellie Goulding is?

100% of people identified the genre of the music video as folk. As this is the correct genre for the music video it shows that the creators of the video were able to get the genre across through the artist her self (costume etc.) as well as the overall mood of the video. This is something I wanted to achieve with my video.

100% of people identified the genre of the music video as folk. This shows that I have also achieved the same as the original music video and this has being noticed by an audience.
